USA TODAY Sports’ staff picks for Saturday’s Florida vs. LSU game

It’s not often Florida is a strong favorite at Tiger Stadium, Baton Rouge. It’s one the most difficult places to play in the nation, and LSU almost always has a strong team.

But this team puts a lot of it into question. It is 3-3 and will likely be the underdog in five of its remaining games. This Tigers team may struggle to make it to a bowl, and USA Today Sports’ college football staff doesn’t give it much chance to win.

A panel of Scooby Axson, Jace Evans, Paul Myerburg, Erick Smith, Eddie Timanus and Dan Wolken unanimously picked the Gators to beat LSU on Saturday in Death Valley, a stadium where it last won in 2016. Florida hopes to repeat that result this time, as it was the last noon EDT kickoff of the series.

The Tigers desperately want a win but the Gators match well against this team so they should be in a strong position to go into the Georgia game at 5:2.
