Thomas finished the contest by shooting 10-of-23 from the field, including 1-of-7 from 3-point range, in 35 minutes during the 114-100 loss. He got to the free-throw line several times in the contest, going 8-of-8 while registering 14 pointsfrom the charity stripe.
His 35 points are the fourth-most scored over the first two days of the season.
Thomas struggled in the field, but still managed to score strong points throughout the contest. He recorded 25 points in the second half with 14 alone coming in the fourth quarter. He was able to get into the paint at will and had success getting to the rim.

Thomas spent the week training with Long Island in preparation for the season opener. He expects to have trouble cracking Brooklyn’s veteran-heavy rotation so he will likely spend quite a bit of time with Long Island.
He is an elite scorer at all levels to this point, and will continue to work in the G League. He could be in for more 30-point performances as the season progresses, as a result.
