The Detroit Lions reached an injury settlement with Tyrell Williams to end their relationship. Williams was released by the Lions in an injury settlement.
Williams is on the team’s inactive reserve list after he suffered a concussion during the Lions’ loss to San Francisco 49ers. Two passes were caught by the veteran wideout for 14 yards and 39 total snaps. Since suffering the brain injury, he hasn’t practiced.
Williams was signed this offseason to be a free agent. After an injury-plagued career with the Chargers he is back with Lions offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn who was his head coach in Los Angeles. He signed a four-year deal worth $4 million with a $2,000,000 signing bonus.
Terms of the settlement are confidential at this point. Williams can sign immediately with another team and it will not affect the Lions.
