These flaky cream cheese and jam cookies are traditionally made in Poland for the holidays. For a variety cookies, you can substitute the raspberry jam for any other jam or make them different.

1. Beat cream cheese, butter and sugar in a bowl until smooth.

2. Combine flour, salt and milk in a small bowl. Mix flour and salt in a small bowl. Beat until well combined.

3. Divide the dough in half. Each portion should be flattened into a disc. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 1 hour or up to 12 hours.

4. When ready to roll out the dough, preheat oven to 350oF. Place parchment paper or a baking sheet on a baking sheet and let cool.

5. Roll the dough out to 1/4-inch thickness. Divide the dough into 2 1/2-inch squares. Place the squares on a baking sheet. Place about 2 teaspoons jam onto each square. Press the corners together by folding them over. Bake 12 to 16 minutes. Let cookies cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack. Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar if desired.

6. Keep it in an airtight container up to one week.
