These coconut macaroons are super simple to make, but look and taste as elegant as any other French baked good.

Makes 15 macaroons


  1. Preheat the oven to 400degF. Place parchment paper on a baking sheet. Use a wooden spoon to mix the coconut shredded with the sugar in a large bowl. Next, beat the egg whites in a medium bowl.
  2. Place the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and heat to 140degF, stirring constantly, until the ingredients form a batter. Stir in the flour. Place large balls on a baking sheet by spooning them or piped.
  3. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden, rotating the pan halfway through, so the macaroons color evenly. Cool on a rack.
