Being fashionable as a Gospel musician is not a sin – Gospel musician reply critics

Many at times and over the years, Ghanaians have bashed female Gospel musicians who do not appear in a manner that seems not to glorify God.

They are often criticised for the way they dress, with their critics claiming it is ungodly. While many have kept quiet on the issue, others have boldly replied their critics as some of them have had enough of the name-calling and one of such is Rose Adjei.

According to Rose Adjei in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the God they serve like beautiful things, therefore, all critics should keep quiet.

“Honestly, I think it is time people understood the work of God and how things were done. Who says God does not like beautiful things and which other way can you tell people of his goodness if you do not look good yourself? God is good, He likes things that are appealing so there is nothing wrong with us looking good and dressing well,” she said.

In Rose Adjei’s assertion, looking good and dapper as a minister of the Gospel is a way to deliver a message to people about God’s blessings and goodness.

“When you are going to evangelise, you need to look good and give the person you are talking to a reason to believe that where you are is a better place.

“If you go wearing tattered clothes with your face and hair looking messy, how will they believe you? How will you even convince them? People should let us be,” she stated.

Speaking of wearing makeup, nail extensions among others which many are of the view that it’s for the worldly people so it is not acceptable for those who call themselves Christians to do the same, Rose Adjei’s was quick to reply: “The most important thing is that at the end of the day we do what we are called to do, which is to bring people to God.”

She, however, made it clear that she was in no way endorsing indecent dressing but being comfortable in what you wear is what has to be the key mindset of every critic.

“I am not saying this to promote certain lifestyles. Look at me; I am not comfortable wearing short dresses so I keep my outfits very decent, yet I look good.”

Rose Adjei is married to Prophet Rexford Antwi-Adjei, and the couple is blessed with three children. She has backed Christiana Love now Obaapa Christy, Georgia Agyei, Maame Justine and many other Gospel artists.
