The offensive line struggled this year, and James Franklin didn’t hesitate to invest heavily in the future of Penn State’s front five. Drew Shelton stands 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds. Although he is quite lean for his height, he has plenty of time to gain weight for the season.

Shelton is a great pass blocker. This was a key reason why Penn State struggled against high-quality pass rushers throughout the season. There’s always more to learn. Shelton is a talented recruit who could be able to progress into a role as a starter for the Nittany Lions.

Shelton is a run-blocker and has been known to pancak guys even when they are out of reach. Shelton is an exciting player to watch grow into a starter or a reliable rotational man if his skills are able to translate to the next level.
