Cardinals activate Rodney Hudson, make other roster moves before game vs. 49ers

Watt has been in flux for more than a week. Although his shoulder injury in Week 7 could have been fatal, the team kept him on the roster as he explored other options.

He will miss at least three games.

Lawrence has suffered a calf injury. He was expected to return this week, but he suffered a setback during practice. He is now out for at least one week.

Wells was on the practice squad. Demetrius Harris, who was added to the COVID roster earlier in the week, means that the Cardinals will need another tight end.

The Cardinals used their standard elevations to elevate two players and used their COVID elevations to elevate two others, so they signed Wells rather than elevating him.

Receiver Greg Dortch and Kevin Peterson, cornerback, Joe Walker, and Josh Mauro, were promoted to the active roster by the practice squad. Peterson and Dortch were elevated to standard, while Walker was COVID-replacement.

With A.J. Dortch will likely handle the return duties.

Peterson could play on special teams, and be a gunner for the punt team. He will replace safety James Wiggins who was injured in his knee.

Walker is expected to play on special teams, while Mauro will be playing defense after the Cardinals lost Watt and Lawrence.
