3 Cardinals coaches test positive for COVID-19, will not travel for game vs. 49ers

Two players from the Arizona Cardinals are currently on the COVID List after being positive for the virus. A.J. As a result, Green and Demetrius Harris will not be playing against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Cardinals will be playing without three assistant coaches on Sunday.

The team announced Friday afternoon that assistant head coach/special teams coordinator Jeff Rodgers, running backs coach James Saxon and offensive line assistant Brian Natkins all will be unable to make the trip to Santa Clara as they have tested positive for COVID-19.

This is the second consecutive time that they were without at least one coach due to positive testing for the virus. The Cardinals were without Kliff Kingsbury, their head coach, and Cam Turner, their quarterbacks coach against the Cleveland Browns.

Devin Fitzsimmons (Rodgers’ assistant special team coach) will coordinate the special-teams unit this weekend. Other offensive assistants will replace Saxon and Natkins.
